Strange white flashing lights in woods?

I have a woods in my back yard and I saw small multiple flashing lights in my back yard. They were the size of a lightbulb going on and off, these were in different places and were about 2 to 5 seconds apart, They were several different lights as if a bunch of people were standing in my backyard and turning lights on and off around there. Could this be some kind of animals or aliens or ghosts, all answeres will be accepted. If you can, then I would prefer a link to a website with more info
