Why does everyone laugh at me when I wear Ottoman slippers to school?

I'm sorry to say but these slippers are like genie's slippers or 'gypsy' style.People only laugh because they try to be in the 'crowd' don't mind them if you want to wear them,wear them.Just because you have a different style doesn't mean they should laugh.Just ignore them,soon they will realize how it feels to be laughed at
