Im going to spain and i need a few answeres of what i can and cant take with me on airplanes?

okay so my school will be taking students to spain and im gonna have two bags. one of them wont be with me but the second one is a little tote that i want to put snacks and magazines and my make up. so that bag will be with me at all times in the plane ride. i wanted to know if i can take my make up and snackes with me on the plane?
