I have had to remove yahoo as my opening page because of aggressive advertizing; what can I do about that?

I had yahoo as my opening page, but had to remove it because the advertising had become so aggressive that it created too much interference. an ad expanding to fill the whole screen for example is just abuse. Yahoo would be my preference. Is there anything that one can do about that, other than complain?
