Changing program preferences in Firefox?

I recently updated my Adobe Acrobat 6.0. Now every time I try to open a pdf file I get an error saying the version running cannot open the document. Is this because I updated it? I also have Adobe Reader. Is there any way to set it so that pdf's open in Reader instead of it trying to open Acrobat? Or does anyone know why I'm getting this error?
